LED globe for 3in1 bathroom lamp

Just blew the halogen globe in the 3in1 bathroom heat lamp/exhaust fan.
Want to replace with an LED globe.
Whats suggested to replace it with?
The Phillips 9w LED es I have doesn't fit.
The original halogen is a different shape.
(I prefer the cool blue over warm white.)

  • Bit of trial and error might be needed. I've found that some led gloves vary a bit from the 'standard' shape. What sort of globe is it bayonet? Edison screw? MR16?

I out an Aldi led screw base globe in one of ours and it is a bit smaller than the reflector globe it replaced, but it works. It is a secondary light in that bathroom, so it's wasn't as important to be as bright, or fit exactly.

    • ES, Edison screw. I fitted the 9w Phillips globe, but it doesn't fit properly. (With the housing, not the base)

  • its usually an R80 bulb - I found the Phillips didn't fit mine, but some brand at bunnings did….Has some kind of Italian name Luce Bella?

    • R80, thanks.
At Bunnings there's two models of the Crompton brand (I prefer the cool blue over the warm white) any idea of the difference?
The LuceBella is only warm white.

      • I cant see any difference between the normal R80 and the "Bathroom Buddy" version. Not sure what they are up to there.

I prefer a Warm White in the bathroom just to give the illusion of warmth on a freezing winter morning in the bathroom. But also, just to hide that clinical feel.

  • Note that if you use the heat lamps you may risk overheating the electronics inside the LED globe.

I'd be doing a quick test (turn heat lamps on for a few minutes, check if light socket area feels warm, without electrocuting or burning yourself of course)

    • I try not use the heat lamps at all.
They don't heat up the bathroom, just burn the bald spot on top.😏
Switching to LED for economy, which the heat lamps are not.
Thanks for the info about the electronics of the LED
