  • Storage: Samsung - 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive- $99

Where the hell did you find a 250GB Samsung SSD for $99? please send me the link…I want it too!

    • :( This sucks, I was gonna give you the link until I noticed that it wasn't listed on Umart, or at least not for that price. I grabbed the price off Pc part picker unbeknownst to me that it doesn't exist for $99

      • Damn, got me excited :(

  • you need an asus 180ti.

    My suggestions:

    • PS: Corsair - RMx 550W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply- $146
      Thermaltake Toughpower 550W 80 GOLD PSU - $115
(Reason: You won't really take advantage of a fully modular power supply and you can put the money towards something else in your build, any Gold certified power supply from a reputable company will do really)

    • Monitor: Either Asus VP228H monitor for $170 or BenQ GW2270H for $168
      Viewsonic 24" VX2457-MHD 1ms 1920x1080 Free-Sync HDMI DP D-SUB SPK Gaming Monitor
(Reason: It's only about ~$10 more for a 24" screen and is definitely worth it. You will occassionally find some 24" monitor deals on OzBargain as well. You might also be able to find some second hand monitors on Gumtree for very cheap also)

Also, what is your total budget for everything? Have you also taken into consideration a copy of Windows 10 into your build? (You might be able to score a license for cheap if you know where to look)

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll go with your choices. I wanted my total budget for everything to be $1300 ($1400 if need be and if it means a better, longer lasting pc). Adding up the prices of the parts inc monitor and wireless adapter the cost is $1331 and shipping will be $50 and hopefully it stays that way. The last part is now the keyboard, preferably a keyboard/mouse combo, do you know where I should look to find cheap combos? And yeah don't worry, I got Windows 10 for a cheep cheep price ;)
I'll start looking into second hand monitors now

      • For keyboard/mouse combos, not really. In my experience I haven't really come across any quality keyboards and mice bundled in these so I tend to avoid them.

You might want to look into mechanical keyboards, they're more expensive than normal keyboards ($100+ but occasionally there are deals on OzBargain) but feel a lot nicer to type/game on.

For a mouse, I'm currently using the Logitech G403 Prodigy which I got for $49 from a JB Hifi deal. It looks like it's on sale for $47 at Harvey Norman. You might be able to pick it up to save on shipping?

Non-K i5 is faster than Ryzen for gaming for around the same price I believe (though Ryzen isn't a bad choice).

    • Which online store can I buy it from?

      • Any computer shop carries Intel i5.

Also regarding PSU: 500W is enough. You can cut at least 50 bucks for PSU cost and put it towards video card. Hopefully RX 480 4GB if you can afford it.

        • Okay cool, also with PSU, moneybaby said that semi mod is good enough. Is that fine, 500W semi mod?

        • @LightSaber: If you're changing to Intel you'll need to change your motherboard too. My vote is stay with Ryzen.

        • @Ryanek: Yeah imma stick with Ryzen, trying to find footing rather than make any more adjustments. The last 2 bits I wanna finalise on are monitor and keyboard/mouse. Looking above I was suggested to get a viewsonic 24" monitor for $179 and it looks good and it's got inbuilt speakers however it's not IPS. But then I found an IPS monitor for around the same price but it doesn't have inbuilt speakers. I have ext speakers at home but when I turn them on, they make a humming sound and that sound is drowned out when you're playing music but for some reason, it's bothering me. Then with keyboard/mouse combo I found one that's $25 (Gamdias, mem) and one that's $43 (Rapoo V110, mem-chan prob) and the higher priced one is pretty but now it looks like I'm letting aesthetics get in over my head. But if I go with the cheaper priced one, I could also snag myself an xbox/ps controller. Look at all these petty issues I'm having HAH.
