If you don't wanna know you should know not to go on the internet doofus ;)

Agreed. Would have thought a mod may have rectified this.

Why not just title the post Pacquiao V Horn? Those who don't understand the title wont add to the conversation anyway. But it's a shi7 thing to ruin any sporting event for others.

Yeh he is winnerof the world australia . Him win > paq

The judging was a load of bollocks.

I can see the 115-113, as some rounds were very close. Don't let the amount of punches skew your opinion. Many were landed in the ninth round.

The 117-111 was a disgrace of a score, and the judge should be ashamed of him/herself.

No wonder boxing is a dying sport, with corruption running rampant.

    • Hmm, you seem to be implying that the sport is dying because of corruption.
IMHO corruption has always been inextricably linked to the sport of Boxing in particular.

      • Ahh yes, it did come off that way.

Yeah boxing has and always will be a very shady sport. Where there's money, there'll be dirty people.

    • agree judging was bollocks but take a look at the broken down figures round by round wasn't just the 9th thats just when he started hitting him more

it took Horn 12 rounds to land what paq had done after 8

Ahead in every category and remained constant in every area till the last 4 rounds where he doubled the amount of connects to Horns left Eye than he'd hit in the first 8

Pretty weird when the ref came to Horn's corner during the 9th break and asked if he wanted to retire yet.

      bit light that one

it was a fight or i'm calling it for you son

  • You're asking if an Aussie or a Filipino won on a majority Australian user website? There is no doubt a committee review will be held just like the last time Pacquiao got robbed by Bradley in their first fight. This decision is a disgrace to what is left of boxing. No disrespect to Horn and his efforts, but just compare not only the stats, but their faces and at the end and whether Horn's punches did any damage to Pacquiao's face.

I thought Pac won by 2 rounds

  • I watched it and to be honest Pac only did well in 3 maybe 4 rounds, all the others he mostly defended himself. I think the score should have been closer because when Pac did step up he did it big time but it was only about 3 or 4 rounds out of 11.

I do not get why everyone thinks Pac did well enough to win?

And as far as spoilers you would have to have your head in the sand till you watched the fight to avoid knowing the results. I would sufficate if I waited very long with my head in the sand, LOL.

Maybe the overwhelming punch stats (thrown and landed for both jabs and power shots) has something to do with it?

      • How accurate are those stats? I must have been sleeping through most of the fight.

      • More than just ESPN are kicking out their own versions all similar figures

Did Horn get bonus points for making more of an effort after the ref threatened to stop the fight.

Same with the post match pics only one guy looks like he has been in a fight

Only another month for the next historic farce, Connor beats Mayweather after breaking his leg then choking him out.

Horn's 7 rounds to Pacquiao's 5… close but Horn definitely won. Either way Pacquiao was at the losing end as he didn't look like a champion and it was a real average showing. Not something at all that Mayweather would be interested in, even if Pacquiao had won. That's what the Filipino camp was looking for, an impressive showing.

No self respecting boxing fan can watch that fight and say Horn won.

People seem to be judging the end of the fight (tbh I think Jeff could have TKO'd Pacman at the end had they let it go a few more minutes), but overall with all the rounds accounted for, and whether you consider moving forward and aggression as an important aspect of judging… then I don't know what to say other than it was close and Jeff seemed to have the edge overall.

There is always going to be a debate in a close fight.

I've watched it several times now with no sound, pencil and notepad in hand… I still gave horn the edge.

2 of the 3 Judges were from America too. So take that for what you will.

  • I had it even scoring the 9th as a 10-8, but I can see 115-113. Fully expected a split decision. I wonder what fight the 117-111 judge was watching, LOL.

If Horn won that fight then I'm the new Queen of Fiji. Punch Stats

The promoter is the real winner. How much will they make on the rematch?

  • +5

2 of the judges unanimously scored it 115-113. If you take away the outlying score of 117-111 and just used the identical scores of the other 2 judges Horn still wins. Typical US commentators going nuts because somebody they know nothing about has beaten their favorite boxer that they have no doubt been pumping up for weeks.

  • The scorecards were much better than Green vs Mundine II. Coming off that epic WTF/corrupt decision, what do you expect from judges in South East Asia.
It's just taught the world that Australia doesn't deserve top-drawing boxing due to the massive variance in judges scorecards. Keep the "big" fights in Vegas- Horn will be fighting there next.

    • Two of the three judges were American though…
