Quartz and mineral crystal for 1430? Sounds like the Jeweller association ethics is strong in calculating those rrps.

    • an automatic chronograph might be a bit optimistic at this price level

      • If your looking at performance and durabilty rather than bragging rights, both Seiko and Citizen will be offering items your great-grandchildren might appreciate at this price range

i'm coming more onto what negatron has said there, I think you have a hard time finding any watch, of any reputable brand, with an automatic chronograph movt. AND sapphire crystal

I mean if you can find some for under $1k I'd be surprised.

There are plenty of automatic chronos around $1k by Hamilton and Tissot on Jomashop.

Negatron is right in saying that $1430 for mineral and quartz is way too expensive.

    • These are the most expensive watches I have seen with mineral crystal.

Not bad - for those not sure, this Swiss made watch has the $35 Myota movement, not one of those cheapy $12 ones. Whoops - corrected by the O.P, The lens is glass, not resin. Some might well consider the price is well worth it for the design and quality of the assembly, but most of the reviews I can find seem to be mirroring the ad-speak bumph and the `statement' aspects of the brand.
They are nice looking watches tho, and seem a few steps above the "Insert name here" hipster targeted paper-dialed dress watches some pay hundreds for…

  • Hi Negatron
Just to be clear the RRP is set by Bomberg Switzerland not the JAA or ojco.com.au.
This is a high quality Swiss Made Chronograph wrist watch that also double a fob/pocket watch. You will find it is very good value.
It is a very impressive watch which is certainly unconventional.

thats a lot of money for a Quartz auto, even at that 'discounted' price.

For that money I'd rather a nice Seiko, or if you wanted something different an Omologato Derek Bell ( @ $550 odd AUD )

  • Hi Terrys
For you information Bomberg Bolt 68 does not use Myota movements at all. The correct iformation is as follows
Two versions of the BOLT-68 are available: The Bolt-68 Chronograph quartz models measuring 45 mm in diameter and powered by a Ronda caliber 3540D quartz movement,
and The BOLT-68 automatic models measuring 47 mm and powered by a Concepto caliber 99001 automatic mechanical movement.
    Thanks

    • Thanks for that, it does affect the comparison for those liking the design and wanting the not to be sneered at cachet of "Swiss" I'd mistakenly read the "1968" model review and conflated the "68"part of the name

Haha, this is way out of my price range & I've never heard of them, but it doesn't take long to learn about a brand.
I usually google the brand then put "watchuseek" - Like this

I mainly stick with the best value for your dollar, which means looking at Watchuseek Affordable Watches

  • This is a completely different watch to any Seiko, TAG or Omega, it is completely unique.
You will either love it or hate it. It is certainly not for everyone. Even at $200 some would not dare. If you like it however it is 1/2 of the normal price.

I'm really into spending nearly $800 on things I hate.

  • HI Dalealford
