Recommend Me a Redmi Note 3 (Prime) Replacement

Hey Guys,

Going on holiday to Japan soon and am thinking of getting a new phone before I go.

Wishlist features:

Good Battery (on par with Note 3 if possible)
Good Camera (My partner's Oppo R9s takes great photos, so something around as good as this or better would be the goal)
Band 28 (I'm on Optus network and regularly find myself without service when others have it, usually partners phone as she is on same network)
SD Card slot (extra storage + redundancy, if the phone dies I can recover my photos)
Water proof / resistant is a Bonus
Decent ROM support (love the weekly MIUI updates)

Features I know I don't use:
NFC

Price:
Under $500?

What would you recommend? TIA

    Why do you need a new phone… What part of environment do you not understand?

    Edit: Get a Windows phone.

    Could maybe look into a G6 ($475~ last sale)

    Or a OnePlus 3T

    ASUS Zenfone 3 ticks all the boxes and comes in under budget.
    LG G6 as above

    Locally
    ZTE Axon 7 on sale?

    Sadly OnePlus 3T doesn't have Band 28.

    Why not get an R9s? You already know how good they are, supports Band 28, it is just a hair over your budget at Officeworks/JB but heck if you ask nicely enough they might look after you on price?

    Thanks for the advice guys.

    LG G6 is definitely a phone I didn't have on my radar.
    Is there any reason JB Hi-Fi are selling it for $1100+ when it can be had as a grey import around the $500 mark?

    Shame the OnePlus 3T has no band 28, but that really kills it for me.
