  • good price, a special on the imedions would have been better however.

    • According to: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=677074 that may be debatable :)

      • thanks, that should be a good read.

The reason why I said the imedions would have been better is because if youre getting a whole bunch of batteries you're better off getting ones you can keep in the drawer and stay charged for when you need them unless you use them a lot. I think that would have covered more people on here.

  • You can buy 4x AA 2500mAh Varta or energiser rechargables from big W or Bunnings for $18-$20 a pack so i dont see how these Powerex are "a bargain"?

    • +1

      I don't see the bargain either !!?!?

      • me neither, that's about over $5/battery

        • I'm not 100%, but i suspect that the 2700mAh means that these can function in devices that say that you can't use rechargeables …

in short, if you're using it in high end camera's, then you'll probably see the value, if you're getting it for a psp / controller / tv remote, then stick to your energisers

          • @weezlebub: 2700 mAh relates to the capacity of "charge" in the battery, nothing to do with where you use them.
I use 4x Varta 2500mAh in my digital SLR camera and will get hundreds of shots with flash.

    • Powerex are awesome batteries. They charge better, output better, and remain viable longer than the el cheapo brands you mention. If you know your batteries and what you need them for, you'll know the different professional type brands - and powerex are great.

      • OTOH, If you're clueless about batteries, you'll be all "WTF?" because you are used to buying junk.

Prices for these batteries at Protog total at $92.85, so I guess you get a slight discount with postage. i would not call it a bargain.

yeah pretty hopeless. save a few dollars on postage after spending nearly $100. wow.

  • wtf $95 for a few batteries o.O

  • My Biggest issue with batteries isnt capacity but self discharge, I will put newish 6 x 2700Mha's in my 5DMK2 (battery grip) a week later when I go to take a pic I can take 4 pics before the camera dies. I am going to get 12 eneloops

    • Are the 2700 batteries you use Powerex batteries?

      • No week old energizers

        • Just bought 10 Eneloops with 5 chargers from COTD for $67 shipped to the GC

    • I agree that self discharge is the biggest PIA.
I always have another 4 charged ready to go in the bag for my SLR.
I did find that after about 2 years the energisers i used started to not hold full charge anymore, considering how much $$$ was saved by using rechargables, not a big deal.

The reason I posted this on OZB (btw, my first posting) was because I have been using these batteries and found them really good. Mind you, as someone above was saying, the brand is probably more suited for people who "know their batteries". It's also worth mentioning that one should have (or get) a proper charger for these as well.

All in all, in hindsight it may be a bit of a niche deal. I mean if one would post a deal for a Blancpain watch or a William Henry knife, the people may not appreciate them compared with posting a deal on a Casio watch and a Henckles knife…

    • I actually got my MAHA C9000 and Imedion batteries from them before. The fact is when you compare this deal to their regular prices, it's not much of a discount at all. Just do the maths.
