Above Bed Storage Ideas Please

Hi,
I'm living in a room-rental sharehouse and interested in adding some storage space above my bed.
Anything wall-mounted is not an option and I'm hoping for a larger space anyway.
Am thinking more like converted bunk beds where the top bed is just storage but I'm stuck with the rental bed.
Tried looking online but can't find anything other than wall-mounted shelves (sigh).
Not skilled/equipped to build anything advanced and wouldn't trust my own work enough to sleep under it.
Interested in any ideas you might have, products that might work or easily be modified to suit :>
Thanks!
Edit: If anyone ends up here for whatever reason.. the solution for me is garage shelving from Bunnings. Rack It and Pinnacle shelving (y) good luck!

    I don't want to know what you're storing…

Would it be an idea to go and raise your current bed and put storage underneath? You could "modify" some ikea storage cube shelving, put your bed on top of it?

    • That would be an idea and a very good one! My mind immediately went to "How could I do that safely with milk crates?" lol. Thanks :>

Pallet racking. Get it second hand from eBay and if you need shelves get them cut to size at Bunnings. Bed underneath and whatever you want (drawers, boxes, piles of junk, etc.) on top. Not the prettiest but surely up for the job.

    • Great this is the sort of thing I wanted to check out, thanks!

Get a loft bed that fits over the existing bed and store your stuff up there.

Exactly this. Not sure why you would want to store stuff above you.

    • Great idea, exactly the sort of thing I wanted to look at, thanks!

    As others have said:

Not sure why you have to use the rental bed….

Great idea, I really want a loft bed now :<
I'm using the rental bed because it's a pretty good single, I have a Queen size stored away but it would be too large

There wouldn't be too many storage options - for a large storage area, whatever's holding it up is going to take up space.

How long are you planning on staying? Assuming you're not looking to spend too much, so you might be able to check out Ikea.

Assuming you've utilised any space under the bed already?

Yeah no more space left under the bed but yeah Pallet Racking as above is what I was thinking :>

Check out houzz.com.au for a heap of good storage ideas. It's basically Pinterest but only for the home. A lot of the products in the pictures link to websites where you can buy (that's one of their monetisation strategies).
