Comparing Electicity and Gas, Help with Possibly Choosing a Better Provider

Hi Guys,

I've tried the 'compare the bill' websites and they simply just show how much more the prices are then my bill. Which is ridiculous. Currently with Origin

I live in a 3 bedroom home

Here are my stats;

Electricity Bill From Feb - May (85 Days)
Electricity Amount: 236$
Usage: 864 kWh
Solar Feed: 610 kWh: 37$ CR
Bill: 199$

Gas Bill From Mar - Jun (92 Days)
Gas Amount: 175 (Unusually High as we use gas heater in Winter, In Spring/Summer/Autumn Months it's usually around 120$)
Usage: 4702 Peak (No Off Peak Info)

    Call up competing electricity companies, tell them your rates, ask if they can do any better.

    Just depends how much you value your free time.

    but it is hard, as they have peak and offpeak rates. they make it hard for customer to compare

    Too hard for me. GST/ex GST, peak/off peak, pay on time discounts… Maybe trial and error is the way to go?

    I am not sure what state you are in,
    but the VIc Government has a great website that compares EVERY gas and Elec provider and all you do is enter your KW hours / Gas Usage and it shows the cheapest option for you.
