Three consecutive Amazon orders gone missing

All have been Amazon Click and Collect via Parcel Point, going to a local convenience store. I've picked up one order from them before but now these latest three are AWOL too.

I live in the ACT and the last two orders were last seen in Mascot on June 28. Sydney is not 9 days away.

I sent a brief complaint about the first one 'where is my stuff?' via the website and they wrote to me saying they were organising a refund, which would not have been my first choice but they made it for me. These were cheap deals I found out from ozbargain and now the prices are back to normal.

If I complain about the latest two orders they will refund them too, so this will all have been a big waste of time, but I'm not sure what else I can do. Maybe I should write and say - 'please re-send these orders that you lost'?

And also, 'Everything you send to this local convenience store seems to get lost. Something seems wrong there!'

Any suggestions?

Hmm, can only get another refund really. Send to someone else next time. Sounds like there is a thief in the mix somewhere. Notify auspost as well.

Don't complain via "where is my stuff". Talk to a rep.

Maybe switch your ParcelPoint and Amazon destination address to one of the other 15 locations in the ACT.

  • Thats why i dont trust parcel point, you are adding 1 more point in transit where you can get screwed out of your items, for $1 saving ?

Anyway if 3 parcels have gone missing you really should report this to the police, especially if they are all going to 1 point of pickup.

    • probably not making it to that destination, easy to pass blame when it could be an issue with the actual system delivering to another location and not updating ect

  • Are you definitely picking it up the day it arrives?

There's a very small pickup window after the item arrives at ParcelPoint (is it 3 days?) and then they send it back to Amazon.

According to Amazon / ParcelPoint the items never make it to the convenience store. They are in transit, leaving Mascot, and that is the last record of them. I guess I have to write these orders off and never use that pickup location again.

I should probably have mentioned that I always use the cheapest possible shipping methods, as I'm in no rush to get my goods. Surely standards haven't dropped so far that 100% of goods get lost in transit though.

    • I had around 3 parcels go missing in the last 12 months. Some from OS and a couple from within Aus. When I talked to the Aus vendors about it they just sigh and tells me that it's not uncommon with Aust post these days.

  • Hmm I've used Parcel Point in a few places in CBR with no issues…Buddy's convenient store, and the one near the Casino. Which one did you use if you don't mind saying?

    • Yeah, one in Civic. I'd rather keep it general. I'm not out to attack the place in a public forum but figure out how I can stop wasting all this time. The slow shipping takes a few weeks as it is and then you add another 7+ days to figure out it got lost.

  • What does Auspost say when you've rung them?

  • Might want to give a different Parcel Point outlet. I had a collection place where I sent my wine to and they just had it lying out in the open and nobody was monitoring it. Anyone could've come in and picked it up. Sounds like you need to make a complaint to Auspost that they appear to have a thief in the chain.

  • I made another order from Amazon, and got it delivered to a new Parcel Point location. Unsurprisingly, the old black hole one that I used for the above three orders is no longer on the list.

The new order has been in 2 shipments. The first one was due Oct 27th but, surprise, has now gone missing. That makes 4 missing Amazon packages in a row. The second part of the shipment has just been sent from the USA so I will contact Amazon and see what they can do. Can they stop it before it gets lost yet again?

They give me gift certificates as refunds for the lost orders, but what use are gift certificates to a store that never delivers anything to you??? The amount of time I've wasted on all this is staggering.

    • I am currently going through the same issue right now. Package was apparently received at Tullamarine on 26th April and I was supposed to have it by 3rd May. It's now the 7th and when I checked with Amazon live chat, they are quick to just offer a full refund. She said to just accept the refund and that I should still receive the package in 2 days time… So disappointing. Like you said, its just a big waste of time.

The other issue I have is that they can only offer a parcel point tracking number and not the international courier tracking number…. When I asked on live chat for the courier no. she kept saying the parcel point is the delivery carrier (FFS). When I spoke to parcel point today she said it hadn't reached their 'hub'. Surely it doesn't take a week and a half for Melbourne metro. And I had no idea it went through another delivery centre argh. So yeah its no doubt lost. I'm kicking myself for not just going with the home delivery, because that way I'm sure I would have had a proper tracking number! Won't be doing amazon or parcel point again.
