airport parking Melbourne Tullamarine

We are going away for a week and are looking for recommendations for a good (cheap) long-term carpark at Melbourne Tullamarine.
Don't mind undercover or open air.
Thanks

Have you considered a lift (or drive) to the train station, then train and skybus? It WILL work out much cheaper I'm sure.

    • At $26 each for skybus return (2 adults total $52) plus train ticket zone 1 and 2 ($3.70 each = $7.20) total $59.20.
Plus the hassle of taking a bus to train station or leaving car unsecured there for 8 days or the cost of a taxi to and from.
Plus the extra time it takes to get a train and then skybus.
Plus the hassle of trying to take luggage on a commuter train a peak hour.
No thanks, I'll just pay for parking.

I usually drive to Jetport Self Park at Tullamarine (24 hours a day SERVICE). Their on-time service is very reliable (in terms of a free bus to and from the airport). It is 3 minutes away from the airport and they will pick you up within ten minutes of your arrival. If i didn't use them, i would just drive to the long term car park at the airport itself. The absolute CHEAPEST option is to go with Jetbay but their system looks a bit dodgy. Firstly, you drive to their company location in Tullamarine and they will then offer you a courtesy bus to the airport. However (from what I have read) they take your car to a DIFFERENT off-site location to park your car. Then when you return from your trip, they pick you up from the airport and take you back to their main company location but you then have to wait until your car is handed over (from wherever it is parked offsite). Also from what i have read online, people have waited hours for their car to be returned and some unlucky souls have had their car reported stolen or damaged. Moral of the story: go somewhere you can PARK the car yourself, use the long term car park service at Melbourne airport OR take public transport.

  • Has anyone used Parking port which is based at Essendon airport? Their rates are significantly cheaper than the others - $99 for 14 days outdoor compared to $141 for Jetport and $113 for Andrews. I know that Jetport is touted as undercover but last time we had to drive right to the top and didn't get an undercover park so not willing to pay the premium this time.

We didn't get to use the undercover park either, although we paid for it. However, if you're an RACV member, I think you get 10% off.

  • Jetport Self Park on South Centre Road has reopened under the new management of Ace Airport Parking.

They have undercover parking and you can either park it yourself and take the keys or they can valet your car!
