Corolla Ascent Sport Hatch CVT Price?

I'm looking to buy a brand new Corolla Ascent Sport Hatch CVT in Metallic Blue, they look great. Current price $23,990.

What are people paying for them? Is $21,000 with mats, full tank and tint too low to offer? I'm a cash buyer and will buy on the day. Haven't bought a new car before so any advice would be great!

  • About $23,500 drive away, not including the tint, is the best you'll get. IE a $1000 haircut from the current sale campaign

    What happened to the Camry?

    • Change of circumstances :-)

  • If you have npt even approach any dealer, i suggest you go for a test drive and offee the price that you are after.

Sometime they may give you the price you are after.

    • Except in this instance the offer is miles too low ;)

      • $21,000 with mats, full tank and tint too low to offer

Do you think this is too low even to start the bargaining process?

  • Just fly to Perth and buy one off spackbace. He can then go to his manager in a back office with your best price (actually he will just be having a toilet break, having a gawk at the Ming b!tch and checking Facebook) and come back saying $23,499 is managers best price (including ozbargain discount) . Pay him cash and enjoy your trip home. Well as much as you can with an elastic band for a transmission.

  • You can get it here for $23,440 even without haggling:

That is in Qld of course maybe pricing is different in WA.

I bought a Corolla Sedan metallic paint with mats a bit over a year ago for $22,000. I'd be surprised if I couldn't get the Ascent Sport hatch here for $23,000. I can't speak for WA though.

  • It is not unheard of to start the negotiation (haggle) process at 20% off DA. So one (buyer) could make a first offer $19,200 and work up in 2.5% increments up to a final offer of 12.5% discount. If the current going discount for AUS most popular new vehicle Mazda CX5 KF series is about 10% off DA, then for a Toyota Corolla Ascent Sport Hatch auto you may want about a 15% to 12.5% off

    20% - $19,200
    17.5% - $19,800
    15% - $20,400
    12.5% - $20,990

*DA - driveaway price (eg: includes 12 month rego, 12 month CTP greenslip, stamp duty, dealer delivery)

This below listed PDF offers some hints and tips on how to haggle and what to be aware of when dealing with a new car salesman. Only upfront thing I would personally mention is we as a buyer do not need to lie to get some $ discount, so we can be upfront with the salesman and not stoop to their level by saying something like "mate, I have to check with the wife and will get back to you tomorrow" if in reality one does not have a wife (if you know what I mean)
