Best mobile plan with decent rural coverage

Hey there guys I am currently with Boost and have no complaints with them. I need a new sim (need nano for my new Xiaomi Mi5) and thought Id look around to see if there are any other companies that have better deals on telstra as I need one sent out anyway. I travel in rural areas a fair bit so Im assuming that telstra is still the only network to go with, or has this changed? My new Xiaomi has no band 28 though so will that mean that the other networks will be similar coverage?
Was looking for plans on here and Kogan looks great but the Voda coverage map of rural QLD dosnt look too flash. To go with Aldi is only $5 cheaper per month than Boost for same amount of data. Data doesnt need to be huge though

    Rural coverage?

    You'll want Telstra.
And a local device/something that supports all of Telstra's bands.

Basically you get what you pay for, otherwise, stick with the Xiaomi and Vodafone for the bang-buck value.

(it sucks because Vodafone service is pretty decent now, Optus is even better, both much cheaper than Telstra)
(it also sucks that the Xiaomi Mi5 is a great little device, but it doesn't have all the bands we need)

  • I'm with Woolworths Mobile which has Telstra coverage. Highly recommend it :) It also depends on how much you need.
Seems like Boost gives you the best data for $30 per month.

  • Boost has access to the full Telstra coverage network but with normal 4g and not 4gx speeds (which are mainly urban anyway). You won't see improvement in coverage by switching from boost to Telstra.
