Don't know what I just signed up for but saw '500 Free Miles' and thought it would be a good idea. +1

      same!!!

Don't think you get the "free" points until you first take a flight on Etihad.

Meh yeah. Only after you book a flight. Misleading.

First off, I'm not even sure if you get 500 for free. My account still says 0 and it mentions "Experience Flying Reimagined and get 500 bonus miles* when you book your first flight with us.".

Secondly, these points are pretty much useless and expire in 2 years if you don't fly with etihad regularly.

I'm flying to London with them and qualify for 2700 miles. With 2700 + 500, what can I redeem? Apparently a cheapo padlock is one of their "bestsellers" for 2900 points, according to their store.

Their benefits page literally doesn't even have a column listing benefits for the entry level membership. You need to have 25k miles before you even qualify for silver (the lowest listed on that page).

If I fly Sydney to London 30 times with Etihad, then I can fly the 31st time free with only $100 fee!

    • Lol another company sending you surveys and review requests. Just what you need

Yay 35 cents worth of points.

The password must be 8-10 characters. It must begin with a letter and end with a number OR begin with a number and end with a letter.

    Sigh.

    • +2

That's a terrible password. Only 5 characters and it's a plain dictionary word! At least it has a special character at the end.

Better off getting VFF points and status with your Etihad flights for people who don't fly Etihad regularly.

  • I've used Etihad frequently over the years(previously claimed iPhone 6 with my air miles) , but find they have been getting very scabby of late. In my recent trip in June, only 25% of miles flown were credited to my account, was only allowed one piece of check in baggage for 23kg, and they had no snacks outside main meals served on 14 hr flight to Abu Dhabi. They were never this bad before- I swear I'm flying Emirates/Qatar Airways/Qantas next time… All depends on the fare I suppose…
