Your DNS service suggestion is not even close to equivalent product.
ESET is the only AV I ever recommend and use. That said, they give a generous 30 day free trial on their products when you bang in an email address.
Now for the dedicated OzBargainers, when it hits around 29 days you can enter a new email address and get a trial key for another 30 days. Although I do highly recommend buying and using ESET products as a whole, in theory if you spend 2 minutes a month doing this you never have to pay for it.
