Shareholders Benefits/Perks Related to Travel

I'm looking to broaden my knowledge of the benefits in investment in the travel and tourism industry's shares for perks…

The only one I know about is cruises as I seen it come up in forums when I was going on carnival

If you buy 100 shares in carnival(about 5k) you get additional tax free on board credit on every cruise

in 3 teirs under
5 nights 50usd.
6-12 nights 100usd
Over 13 night 250usd
This is across their other companies as well owned by Carnival group like Curnard, Princess etc. If are a regular cruiser making your initial 5k back in obc might not be so unrealistic..

I would be interested to know especially airlines or hotel groups but any tourism related perks for shareholders

I'd suggest that investing in shares with perks in mind is unwise.

Firstly, it's not a particularly sound investment strategy, but for the sake of your question let's assume it's irrelevant to you.

Just being an OZbargainer will normally give you access to better deals which are often not usable in conjunction with each other. It's a bit like mortgage brokers throwing in gift cards to make up for bad rates.

If you're still undeterred, googling shareholder perks brings up a lot of good information. Mirvac, for example: http://groupir.mirvac.com/page/My_Securities/Securityholder_…

  • Yeh I understand, just curious as I spend majority of year traveling.. Even the returns on the carnival shares as in dividend is terrible but the return to be used within the company is good…

I thought if there was an airline that had a decent perk or hotel booking site or something I may be more inclined to shop with them

  • The only travel shares i would contemplate buying are flight centre. The others have no liquidity

  • You can buy a share in an apartment for the rest of your life via a time share scheme. Only $40,000. jokes

  • Here is a OzBargain list. Note, may not be current.
