Fetch TV - Buy Outright or Get Via Optus Plan?

Hi My Tivo is running out soon. I can get Fetch TV for $20/month from Optus - or should I buy outright for $299 with TIVO Harvey Norman offer?

What happens at end of my 2 year Optus contract - Do I keep the Fetch TV?

Anyone done the Harvey Norman swap recently?

Thx

End of contract you own it
However you've paid a fortune for it over 2 years

    • Don't think you own it at the end of the contract. I had to send it back to them or the charge you for it.

  • What's included in the $20 per month? Any channel packs?

  • I have a question too. Can you just buy the Fetch TV box, and use it as a PVR with Netflix, free to air, and the catch up channels, without buying one of the plans for additional channels?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes you can. Purchase the box outright, then pay a once off $1 fee to Fetch and then there are no ongoing costs.

Plus, if you choose, another $1 per month will get you 30 movies per month (one new one a day with a 30 day expiry).
You can also pay for channel packs: see https://www.fetchtv.com.au/packages

        • Wow! Really? $1 a month seems like a pretty good deal.

          Thanks heaps.

I've been tossing up on this idea for some time. I think I'm sold!

  • There is and Android app so it looks like you don't even need their box.
I suspect I could use my Android box - with Fetch tv app from the playstore.

Looks like they either lock you in buy buying their hardware - which I dont need
Or signing up with one of their affiliated ISP's which Im not looking at doing either.

Its a pity as I would like to use their services.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Cheers Baddie.

  • Anyone got a TiVo code for the discounted Fetch TV they don't want - hadn't used my TiVo for 6 months so they wouldnt give me the discount code. Cheers
