Which GeForce GTX 1080 should I buy for VR Rift?

I need a new graphic card for VR Rift and I am thinking of getting a GeForce GTX 1080 FTW 2 at

https://m.newegg.com/products/N82E16814487319

I don't have any experience with graphic card, so I don't know which one is good for me and where to get the best price. Also, I don't know if it is worth to spend more money to get a GTX 1080 Ti or not because I don't want to upgrade it again near in future.

Can you guys please give me some recommendations? Thank you.

1080Ti if you can afford it, or 1080 will do for VR. Check the model if it has the reference fan (not recommended). The double/triple fan (for example Gigabyte windforce) or the water cooled ones are recommended.

The specs whether it is overclocked on not does not differ that much as the base shader/memory clock is the same so for example the GTX1080 variant; the clockspeed is 1607Mhz - 1733Mhz, the OC versions are a bit overclocked by the different manufacturers so you don't have to fiddle with it too much for that small speed bump.

    Price check from MSY/CPL/Centrecom/Scorptec/PCCASEGEAR/PLE.

When you pick a brand check the warranty period, GIGABYTE has 1-3 years, Asus has 1-2 years, etc… each gpu variant has a different warranty period for some reason.

Also finally make sure it doesnt bottleneck your system, you can get a top end graphics card but if its an older CPU/Ram/HDD configuration it will just be a waste of potential GPU power. check here
