    so $108 c&c

  • $108 using cozzie code on eBay with click&collect

    • Not sure if they have stopped click & collect as I don't get the option for it?

      • neither :(

        • actually it works now but I'm not sure how I did it :S reloaded it and I think the difference was I was able to select C&C prior to entering the code

          @Moses:
          Yup now showing for me to, not sure what happened there as wasn't there for me after a number of refreshes.

          Dammit now I have to buy it :s

  • link has been changed to eBay with the code now.

  • Is this a very smoky type of whisky?

    • i doubt it.
      Here's the blurb about it - apparently a Dan exclusive blended by competition winners. So I'm now very doubtful of the quality

      • yup it would have sounded better if they said flavours chosen by Australia whisky experts or connoisseurs.

        I do imagine that they would have been guided by the master blender and wouldn't have been released if it wasn't decent. $108 isn't too bad considering it is meant to be around $160-$180, but just received my monthly bottle from thewhiskyclub and also due for a new bottle of Lagavulin 16 so not sure the budget stretches for it unless someone highly recommends it…

          I was one of the competition winners, so I can tell you exactly how it tastes….

          No, it's not overly smokey. It has about 5% in the blend of highly peated malt.

          The competition winners did not blend this ourselves. We chose between 3 different blends created by the master blender at Glenfiddich. It's a very rich, complex flavour and I would highly recommend it for this price.

          It's not similar to Lagavulin 16, the two are not really comparable.

        • @huwcar:
          Thanks for the review and one lucky man to have had that opportunity.

          Wasn't trying to compare to the Laga, just as my favourite go to its a must to keep in the cabinet so if I'm in need of one I find it hard to jump on anything else. I would probably be more tempted to keep this one rather than drink it seeing as though only 4,900 were produced.

          @worthy1:

          Yep, extremely lucky. A true "once in a lifetime" opportunity.

          Don't buy it and keep it - whisky is for drinking, not for looking at.

          I've had some very nice bottles in my time, but they are all eventually for the glass. The only bottle I have is the prototype of all 3 options for this Cruinnich, all signed by Brian Kinsman.

          Here's a copy of the article written by an Age/SMH journo that travelled with is if you're interested:

        • @worthy1:

          Incidentally, if you love the Lagavulin 16 you should try the Limited Edition 8.

          I think it's fantastic.

        • @huwcar: so how does it taste??? and you're a lucky bugger!

          @supabrudda:

          Well to me it tastes like sweet, sweet victory.

          It's a complex blend. Very rich and a significant depth of flavours. The minimum age in the blend is 21 years (thus the age statement), but some of the contributing malts to the blend are much older (and thus the richness). The alcohol content is not too high, so you're not overpowered by the sting of a higher content. It's mostly like a refined, aged Speyside classic.

          I think it's great, and of course I have an emotional connection to it so that's not surprising - but other people I have shared it with have positive views too.

    how do you do CnC on ebay?

  • Found the CnC option, it's a drop-down option in your Shopping Cart, just change it from Standard (3 business days) to Click and Collect (free).

    • yup its there now but went missing for a little bit there

  • Just a thought: I actually bought 2 bottles + some wine from Dan Murphy's website. Why? Because CR and Wish e-giftcard stack for a total of 8.5% off and they are running a free Laurance Icon Cab 2014 over $250 promotion, so it's like paying $5 for a nice bottle of wine, maybe worth it if you are buying 2 bottles anyway.

  • Missed it.

    Would do a split.

  • Not sure why this was marked as out of stock, I just ordered one via ebay C&C …$108

    • removed expiry
