  • Item location is Sydney but it also says Expedited delivery from outside AU?
Has anyone that's ordered from here, know how long it takes when it says the above

  • Good price

  • +1

wow , its getting cheaper again , though not as cheap as $999 before EOFY. This mob is pretty good , about 3-4 weeks to arrive from HongKong .

  • +2

    So so so tempting….

  • +3

If anyone's contemplating on getting a Mavic/Phantom but are on the fence, I'd get something cheaper and really see how much it'll benefit you. I have both a Phantom and a Mavic and do not use them enough to justify the cost. If you really enjoy flying/actually use them for work, they are a great tool. But don't buy this thinking "Yeah this will be cool to have and fly around". Keep in mind its a tool, not a toy

    • +2

Especially if you live near the citt and have no where to fly it!

      • I'm realising that too as I look at the Where can I fly app and seeing I need to go quite far into the suburbs to fly anywhere decent. That being said, there's Tumbalong Park in the city near Darling Harbour where it's technically ok but I suspect with the huge crowds, it's a no-fly zone anyway even though the app says 45m.

    • if it was a bit faster then it'd be a toy. for that you need a custom fpv quad. having said that i have used my phantom 4 for recreational purposes a few times such as looking for marine life in the ocean when the waters are clear

    • I'm off to a Europe trip soon and can't decide between this and the Spark. I can get the Spark fly more combo for $950 ($500 cheaper than this and also grey import).

I know that Spark is not 4K but still not convinced if it's worth it just for one trip (I live in Sydney and don't do much bush walking). Plus it'll be hard to convince my better half to replace it in the future if I've spent too much 😄

      Any advice?

    • +1

Totally agree , for light hobby better of getting the FPV racing drone and for serious hobby better get a spark with remote control . I won't buy anything bigger than mavic or more expensive than mavic if it's not for a "job" . It's too painful if you lost it or broke it .

    • Why have a Mavic and Phantom 4? Seems like overkill to me…

      • It's a 3, impulse buy haha, got it for 499 on a sale

  • It is shoppingsquareaustralia but is located outside AU.

I am guessing that means no tax invoice?

This doesn't look like Australian stock, or they'd plaster it first thing in description and title.

Since it's not Australian, you can't use DJI Care Refresh (extra purchase) in AU, nor can you get any warranty service in AU via DJI - all has to go through Shopping Square.

As such, this price for grey import isn't excellent, rather OK. Up to you if you wanna deal with the company for the 1yr warranty period and not have the option to purchase DJI Care Refresh, to save a few hundred.

    • +3

      Are you sure?

No, at the moment, DJI Care Refresh only works within one coverage region. However, the coverage region can be different than the region in which the aircraft was purchased. For example, if you purchased your aircraft in China, you can purchase DJI Care Refresh for the US. You can only apply for product warranty service in China, but you can use DJI Care Refresh to replace your product at DJI's official US service center.

    • +1

You are incorrect! DJI Refresh works just fine. I just did it with the mavic ($949) from SS.

I bought mavic pro fly more combo for aud 999.00 from shopping Square ebay last EOFY bargain deal. However, my mavic has a issue with compass setting which is significant issue. Therefore, I contact Shopping square ebay for this issue. They said that service team will contact me soon regarding this issue. I have been waiting for 1 week now. No reply at all from shopping square. I have sent messages twice to make sure that solve this issue. Still no response. I also contacted DJI. They said that my mavic is Chinese version, so I need to send it to China. DJI does not pay international shipping cost and do not accept international service. DJI do only pick up the drone in china area for service. If someone want to buy this product, think this problem again please. I will contact Australian consumer protractor for this issue tomorrow.

Good luck… not too sure how much ACCC can help with grey imports bought from non-Australian sellers online. That being said, they were able to go after Steam so who knows!

      • If there is an issue with product because of my fault, I don't chase seller to fix this problem. However, this issue is initial failure. I will fight for this problem.

        • Check the fine print on the eBay listing:
"Refunds by law: In Australia, consumers have a legal right to obtain a refund from a business for goods purchased if the goods are faulty, not fit for purpose or don't match description. More information at returns "

          http://pages.ebay.com.au/help/buy/contextual/return-policy.h…

Easier said than done, although if they have any local presence it would be easier to go after them.

        • +1

@ramboando: thank you very much for your advice.

    • Care to explain the issue?

      • There is issue with calibrate compass which is very important thing for flying drone. My mavic kept failing to do this. When I tried calibrating first time, calibrating compass was failed, I thought it was because of area that may have strong magnetic interruptions or something. So I moved to another opened area to tried again. Failed again. I went to five different area to tried. All failed. I had checked youtube and many articles to fix this issue, but I realised that is is initial failure.
I have explained to DJI, DJI wanted me to send Mavic to service centre. DJI drones have got good technologies but quality is not very good. Many people are struggling with quality of DJI's products and having services.

        • +1

I had a similar issue before. I received: "Magn Interf" error on my RC. It went away after i updated the firmwares for: mavic & RC. I also reinstalled the apps and restarted my phone. Its working okay now

that is what SQ is famous for. their non-trust-worthy customer service had caused lots of trouble here a few years ago. seems new oz bargainers are not aware of that.

      sum, dont buy from from!

      • Their rating is 99.3% and 30,000 reviews on eBay though….how bad can they be?

        • -1

          w8 n see. good luck

    • did you get the DJI refresh plan?

    • +1

If you dont find a solution to this problem flick me a message i work for a comapny that repairs dji drones ill make sure we look after you

      • Thanks mate

  • Hmm debating about the spark…

  • You might get hit with import duty and processing fees with this. There won't be GST on the invoice. Will be shipped from Hong Kong. I asked them last sale via ebay message.

    • bought flymore package from HK reseller (similar to shoppingsquare) a month ago and received in Sydney without import duty or processing fee applied/paid. i guess YMMV. hope this helps.

      • +2

Always a good bonus when you fly under the radar!
