  • OK, so the manufacturer's own website lists the RRP of this as $899.95, how do you substantiate the claim of the "value" being $300 more?!

    • Inflation

      • Artificial inflation I'd say! Very artificial!

    • +1

      Greetings Sir Casm,

the RRP of $899.95 is for the set. We're throwing in the Wok for free. An addiitonal $299.95.

      Cheers,

      CWB

      • How much is the shipping worth?

      • The wok is $209 on your own website…

        RRP ≠ value

        • At present we sell this set with free wok for $399.95. Items sold separately are $399.95 + $209.95 = $609.90.

        • @Cookware Brands:

And that's the point I'm trying to make - that this whole spurious claim of "$1199 value FOR ONLY $399" is total bullhonky! No one in their right mind would pay that much for these particular pans, therefore that figure is not representative of their value.

I don't dispute that a free wok included in a cook set is a decent deal, but your false advertising just that…false!

        • @Sir Casm: Firstly, love the term 'bullhonky'!

We're not trying to mislead. If you prefer we can say valued at $609.90 on Cookware Brands.

We're confident that this is still the best deal in the market for these products.

Pally, I'm not here to tell you how to run your business, only to scrutinise claims that merchants make & better inform my fellow OzBargainers.

@Sir Casm: are you new to advertising or marketing or something?

  • +4

Can I just get the free wok please? Happy to pay $9.95 for shipping.

    • +4

As much as we'd love to ….. What would you give me in return?..And don't say $9.95. I'm worth more than that aren't I?

  • They had a deal the other week for the 4 piece set for $99 with free shipping. Great deal, good pans. But i wouldn't pay $200 for a wok and an extra sauce pan i would barely use. Also, the wok is the wrong material. The best woks are the cheap ones you find in china town because they are far better heat conductors. This one would take too long to heat up and cool down, as well as it is too heavy to toss back and forth on your trivets

    • Hi ecatsuj,

just a correction. Yes we had a deal on eBay the other week for $99 but that was for the 4 piece set - not the 6 piece.

      Cheers,

      CWB

    • Cheap wok doesn't work on induction. This one is the next best thing. I got one from their eBay store and have not stop using it. Also it's apparently strong enough for metal utensils.

      • I wouldnt use wok with an induction cooktop. might as well use a frying pan. The idea of a wok is to supply a high amount of heat well up the sides of the bowl. so that way you fry the food as opposed to boiling it.

        • +1

Some People use it for the large volume not necessarily for flash frying. Even the gas burners at home aren't strong enough for proper wok cooking.

        • @gimme: I agree completely. I hate my gas burners at home compared to how they are when i worked in kitchen, never enough heat!
