well the Telstra ones were on clearance, il just unlock and use which ever Sim

The cheap 4g modems usually have very limited bands. So I would suggest you get the one on the network that is right for your aim.
4GX or 4G+ is just the branding of the 700Mhz band in relation to 4G services. If a device has 700Mhz it is "4GX"/"4G+". I have the Telstra/ZTE MF910V, unfortunately, you just missed the Coles sale which finished today. If your desperate and can't wait for another sale, Officeworks has it for $39 which is an OK deal.
Keep in mind that Telstra branded devices generally only have Telstra bands, which means it will really only work with other providers if you're in the city.
4GX is Telstra speak for their 4G service, are you only looking at Telstra? Expensive. Bear in mind these devices are usually locked to the provider.
BigW have the Vodafone 4G Pocket Wifi Modem on sale for $39, data would be cheaper with them.
