Link between Cashrewards and Boost Mobile?

So I have yet to jump on the cash rewards bandwagon.
I went to sign up today and noticed this bit in the privacy policy (emphasis mine):

You may request access to your Personal Information unless:

there are existing or anticipated legal proceedings between Boost Mobile and you and the information would not be accessible by the process of discovery in those proceedings;
….

My question is, what is the link between Cash Rewards and Boost Mobile that would cause this clause to be added?
Google just turned up a heap of things mentioning either, but not both.

  • Certainly wouldn't be surprised if it was a faulty copy pasta

  • Hi OP, and congrats on your first post :)

    Can you please tell me where exactly you're seeing that clause? There is no link whatsoever between Cashrewards and Boost Mobile, and as far as I know, they have never (yet) been listed as a merchant on Cashrewards. Thanks.

        Yep, found it just before you responded. Section 4. Definitely an error and have already communicated this to the team for a fix. Thanks so much for the find :)

    1. How can you enquire about, access and correct the personal information we hold about you?

    Access

    You may request access to your Personal Information unless:
    the access would have an unreasonable impact on the privacy of other individuals;
    the request for access is frivolous or vexatious;
    there are existing or anticipated legal proceedings between Boost Mobile and you and the information would not be accessible by the process of discovery in those proceedings;
    giving access would be unlawful; or
    such access can be denied under the APPs, any law or by a law enforcement agency.

    The connection is that cash rewards ripped off Boost mobile privacy policy without even reading it.

    Would you trust a company with your privacy if that company hasn't even read their own policy?

  • Hi all. Sincere apologies for the error and any inconvenience caused. We engaged lawyers to provide us with an updated privacy policy to ensure it was compliant with any obligations, and make it clear to our members that we take the privacy of their data extremely seriously. Unfortunately we have been let down by our, now former, lawyers. We should have picked up on this error before it was posted to site, however we have been focused firmly on providing the best deals & service to our members and incorrectly assumed we could rely on our lawyers to provide us with the same quality & service. We've obviously learned a lesson and will be reviewing everything created externally from now on to ensure we provide a consistantly high level of service to our members. Thank you.
