Car Seat covers for 2014 Holden Cruze 5 door hatch

Hi Bargainers - I have just bought a very new and shiny (secondhand) 2014 Holden Cruze 5 door Hatch with 38 thousand Ks. For me, it's a big deal and is the shiniest newest car I have ever driven. Problem is - I have two labradors that I cart around with me all over the place and they are often wet and smelly. I'd like to save the new upholstery as much as possible so I'm looking for car seat covers. This isn't something that is usually in my field of reference.

Does anybody have suggestions about buying some car seat covers to fit my car? I see that there is a company who makes "made to measure" covers in a neoprene fabric (which would be good for damp dogs) or another fabric option is a jacquard with a waterproof middle membrane. Has anybody fitted made to measure carseat covers? It looks like they would be $199 for front seats and another $199 for rear seats. Or, are there any off the shelf brands that would meet my needs that anybody out there could recommend?

Any advice about this topic would be appreciated.

  • Have you checked Super Cheap Auto or similar? Or ebay?

  • yes - supercheap do have the custom made covers for $189 not $199 but I didn't get any further than that because I guess I'm a bit unsure about the whole thing about car seat covers. I'd be reluctant to buy form ebay because I really have no idea.

So, thanks for the suggestion but probably my question is more about "what things to I need to be aware of if i am purchasing car seat covers?"

  • If you want to save yourself money, get either one of these for the back seat as they all seem the same except for the fist one which isn't waterproof

    • thanks for the suggestion. Have you used the pet hammocks? I'm a bit worried about how safe they are. Seems to me that my (big) dogs might want to travel standing up on the part of the cover that spans out over the gap below and which will have nothing to support them. I like the look of the front seat protector but it would be far too small to use as a box (as pictured) for a labrador - might work okay as a seat cover i guess and certainly a bargain price in comparison!

I'll keep looking but appreciate your feedback.

something that helps with those hammocks is putting something in the foot well so when puppy stands there the hammock doesn't collapse into the void. a sealed cardboard box is enough to give support.
