Kaspersky Free Anti Virus Global Release

Moved to Forum: Original Link

According to Eugene kaspersky in his blog, he is releasing a free version of anti virus with global rollout from july 25 2017.

I have been using kaspersky products since 1997 when it was a DOS GUI.

If this info in his blog is genuine we can get free kaspersky antivirus as per his blog in the near future.

Please read all the blog very carefully and maybe in a day or two… maybe… it will be available for australia

  • Good deal when we get it (25th-27th) - hopefully stacks up performancewise

The same protection without compromise: we detect any cyberthreat regardless of its origin or intention – even if certain folks don’t like it.

Big talk. Small actions. No antivirus is protection without compromise. So please stop claiming such nonsense. Computing today has never been less secure. Hardware and software.

It doesn't have to be perfect, just better than nothing.

    • What if it fell out of the sky?

  • The "leader" file to download the actual program is now available from kaspersky australia page.

The actual program is around 150mb in size.

The leader file is about 2mb

  • Does this free edition come with loads of ads?

I'm fond of Kaspersky but Sophos home free has no ads whatsoever. Granted, free ed is pretty simple, but for now they also offer 1 year premium ed if users participate in their beta testing.

  • Is there a difference between this and Kaspersky Anti-Virus?
