Amazon Echo Dot from US - How to Use It for AUS

Hi Guys, I have an Amazon Echo Dot lying around for a while and have not got to use it. I believe I need to download an apk for my android mobile to use it. Also wondering what kind of additional adapter would I need to use it for AUS standard. Any bargain links would be helpful thanks,

    what does the current adapter say it can manage in terms of input voltage?

      Hmmm. Will have to check that when I get back home. It looks like one of the compact wall chargers.

    Use any micro usb power supply. Mine works well with the Sony phone adapter.
    And use http://alexa.amazon.com/spa/index.html to configure.

      Is that by changing the timezone? I wouldn't try that, could brick your echo.

        Yes I remember reading about some article about how the API was fixed and this method is outdated. I honestly don't want complex installation steps.

        Just change the timezone in the app, no need to muck about.

        At present you can't set the location to anywhere in Australia, but it probably won't be long till you can.
