If they have it in stock at the store, usually pretty quick 1-2 days. Maybe call ahead to ask first

Just be mindful that the 6 is coming out and the 5 still has a lot of unresolved issues. A lot of prosumers are dropping GoPro as it is likely the issues with the 5 will now remain unresolved.

There are many others from writers of action cam review blogs that have compiled a list of primarily software, and hardware issues. Software issues range from glitches where it appears to be recording but isn't, connectivity to phone remote which made recording difficult or once again, did not trigger recording on the GoPro.
Personally, I have not encountered any of these issues but have only used it as a point and shoot action cam. Have not played with settings or remote features.
These "unresolved issues" consist of one person who has a water damaged camera, definetly an individual problem, not across the board. Please show us this list of compiled software and hardware issues, because i cant find anything apart from initial minor problems at release, which seemed to have been fixed.
If you don't mind me asking, what problems are we talking about?
I'm still using the hero3 and I'm thinking if the issues with a 'soon-to-be-discontinued" gopro5 will still be better than a dying 3!

posted the top hit from google in my response above. There were many from the short search I did a few months ago with intentions to expand the number of cameras. Gave all current models a pass and will wait for upcoming crop.
The GoPro 3 is a GREAT camera with combined with a backpac batteries. Shooting at max settings for 4 hours straight. Cannot beat that when you want to capture those opportune moments.
I am still using my hero 3 too. There are so many non-go pro alternatives out now at much lower price points that I'm finding it hard to justify going Gopro again. Gopro have a real problem on their hands.
reflected by their share prices. They cannot go too many quarters the way they have been going.
