Apple Music Is ~10x Cheaper in India, How to get it here?

Earlier I bought Microsoft Groove Music for 2 Year at $31.4 per year (PI Deal get it :)) , well long story short 2 years are over and hence no music subscription, family subscription are sitting around $18 (Google, Microsoft, Apple, Spotify..)

However, in pursuit to find a coupon or voucher code, I came across this:

Apparently Apply music cost just Rs 120.00 = $1.86 USD = $2.35 AUD, heaps cheaper than buying from AU account.

Any thoughts, and how to get this?

Indonesia is actually 69,000 rupiah. The blogpost is incorrect.

  • Google Play music is 89 rupee a month in india … no need to buy discounted telstra prepaid starter packs anymore!

    • but GPM from India can be used in OZ? I thought it was region specific.

I haven't checked yet, but how difficult could the geo-bypass be?

At best they enforce credit card numbers + physical location. Easy to work around both. I'm sure there's a bunch of pre-made solutions available too.

My name is Rarja and I am in India. If anybody would like to send me their credit card details I will surely buy these cheap items for them and play them to you over Skype. jk

  • From what I'd read it goes something like this: Create a new iTunes account with India as location. Enter in an address that you'd reside in India (GoogleMaps can help you here). Purchase a free app on your Mac or iPhone so that it prompts you for payment. Instead of a credit card (which is linked to Indian address), use an Indian iTunes Gift Card. Then after that's done, sign up to Apple Music and let your gift card credit be the payment.

There's some big caveats in doing so: http://www.idownloadblog.com/2015/10/04/apple-music-foreign-… - namely that you can only use Apple Music while logged into that account. It'd be great I guess for things like Apple TV or maybe the new HomePod but for your iPhone or Mac that might be a problem if you want all your emails, paid apps, etc. linked.

    • too much work just to get apple music, easier to get google music, youtube music or spotify with simple VPN and nothing else.
