As the topic heading is, simple question.

If I buy something from amazon US, does the 28 degrees price protection apply?

  • On their site, as part of the PDS here, it's stated that:

"If you buy an item in Australia with your 28 Degrees Platinum Mastercard and within 6 months the item is reduced in price in the same retailer at any location within Australia, we'll pay the difference between the purchase price and the reduced price to your account."

So looks like the retailer must be Australian.

I don't have a card with them though, so perhaps wait for a few responses for confirmation.

    • +1

Yeah I read that, seems a little ambiguous though as they also mention foreign currency in the next paragraph. Am hoping that means amazon is covered.

      • Yeah, not entirely sure, possibly for cases where an Aus retailer uses a foreign company for processing transactions or you're paying them in a foreign currency? Not common, but does happen.

  • Price protection doesnt, but fairly sure Merchandise protection will cover damages within 6 months - although I've never used it before.
