Private Selling Rule Clarification

Hey guys on this thread my comment was unpublished for 'Private selling in comments not allowed'.

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/4930705/redir

The comment was that I recently bought a 350Z on the private market myself and I gave the price I paid for it and then suggested a couple other cars I thought would suit his budget, i'm not looking to sell it as I only bought it 3 months ago and made no reference to me having anything for sale.

Are you not allowed to mention details about private market pricing at all on auto threads? I assume you can't link carsales/etc. sites as price comparison as that would be advertising but just revealing the pricing numbers at all is not allowed? Not sure what kind of guidelines we have here so if someone could clarify the site rules on this that would be great for my future reference thanks.

Mod: RESOLVED, it was a mistakenly removed and now republished.

If that was your comment then you should open a "talk with a moderator" post and ask them why your comment was classed as that.
Maybe a mistake though idk how that could be.

Mod just failed reading comprehension and mistakenly deleted your post.

  • The comment is fine and is republished. It was mistakenly removed and we apologise.

Please use Talk with a Moderator in future. Commenting Guidelines including selling which can be found in the help located at the footer of OzBargain.

Im glad this is sorted now. We wouldn't want people to stop quoting their purchase prices for fear of an unpublished comment.
