Today I received a promotional email from ING advertising this competition. It seems that subscribers received a targeted offer of either the above competition or this deal for 1 % p.a. bonus interest on new deposits. The ING Savings Maximiser is/was the ubiquitous OzBargain savings account so a large proportion of us should be able to take up this offer.
Key terms and conditions:
Eligible Entrants will automatically receive one entry into the draw for each $100 by which the balance across the Eligible Entrant's ING DIRECT Savings Maximiser accounts increases over the Promotional Period as a result of deposits from an Orange Everyday account or an account external to ING DIRECT (whether the Savings Maximiser accounts are held in individual or joint names) ("Eligible Deposits"). The Promoter will determine the amount of the balance increase by calculating the difference between the account balance on the last day of the Promotional Period and the account balance on the first day of the Promotional Period, minus any deposits which are not Eligible Deposits. Multiple entries may be issued.
Prizes will be limited to one per participant (except for South Australian residents). Any subsequent entries drawn for an already winning participant will be deemed invalid.
Until 30/6/2024, referrer and referee will each receive $75/$100/$125 for opening new Orange Everyday & Saving Maximiser Accounts.
Referrer: Do not participate in the referral system if you do not have a current $75/$100/$125 referral code.
Referee: To qualify, you are required to deposit a minimum $1,000 and make at least 5 (settled) card transactions within any calendar month.
I withdrew all but $1,000 from my Savings Maximiser soon after the 0.2 % point rate drop. It could be an initiative to get our funds back.

Yeah I've got promotion emails on. Maybe they are targeting people who did withdraw.
Stick it in ME Bank, RAMS or U Bank for 3.05 %, 3 % or 2.87 % respectively. Maybe you'll trigger an email or be targeted next round.
Either way, you'll earn more on your dosh and lower the starting balance for either promotion (they reward deposits in excess of your starting balance).
