I am looking at getting my son some new headphones with a microphone for talking and spending around $200, can anyone make any suggestions or has seen a good deal at the moment ?

I would recommend the Hyperx Cloud II headset. I have a pair, the sound quality is really good and you can wear them for hours without any discomfort. Best of all they only cost around $100-$120.
nerdy friend of mine also loves that headset. I've tried it and liked the the noise dampening.
The HyperX Revolver is the newer version of that headset and a review I read a while ago basically said they are leaps and bounds better in terms of audio quality. Most places have them priced at $120. Not sure the Cloud 2 are still available or may be priced stupidly due to low quantity. I'm probably going to get myself a set of them soon.
Logitech G633 has been great (more comfortable the my cloud II imo) i bought to replace my new Hyperx cloud II that stopped working a couple months after buying them.
I'd go with the hyper cloud II.
Logitech g933 wireless should be had around that price at msy - jb usually match them for me if there is one nearby.

G933 is a heavy beast so maybe stick away from that one.
