A potentially more seamless option, if you only want it for basic personal tasks: google drive already does a bang up job of this. I've been using it for years to snap receipts, and upload it to my drive, then I can access it from any device any time and not worry about losing the file or physical copy. It automatically adjusts contrast, white balance, crops the image and straightens it to look like a scanned document.

I'm giving the benefit of the doubt that this app does it of a higher standard/ more "professional", but for basic users google drive may be more intuitive.

Free's free though so hoarding and upvoting regardless :p

    • Just trying Google Drive. Does it do OCR?

      • no idea sorry, beyond my wants/needs. That feature probably falls under the second line of my post, haha.

      • Office Lens (MS) apparently does something like that. I've downloaded but not tried yet.

Went to buy it… Already own it. Must have been free in the past before.

  • Got it, but it's struggling to install the OCR module

    • OCR module? Having a play but can't see any OCR, which is the only reason I got this. Anyone managed to get ocr working?

    "Mobile Doc Scanner" - i.e. a camera? :/

    • I'm guessing it auto-crops the paper, corrects distortion from the angle you take the photo, etc and saves to pdf.

      • I'm guessing it just saves to PDF.

        • Pretty lame then. I saw one on iOS which does all of the above for $2.

I'm guessing it just saves to PDF.

          and Jpeg
