This will be great if we can get Local Warranty and they don't jack up the price absurdly.

10 bucks says it will be more expensive than grey imported ones which mostly defeats the point. They will price it to "compete with the Australian market" i.e. it will be $850 rather than $479US conveted to AUD + Tax purely because all the other phones are crazy expensive.

      • all local stock is more expensive than grey imports….. grey imports skip taxes and local rights/warranty. hence cheaper

The phone won't be local stock… It will be a 'grey import' but you buy direct from the manufacturer. You won't be going to JB and buying one, you definitely won't be getting support from the manufacturer. You will be paying more than a grey import which defeats the point as I said.

        • @Doge: For a deal with no details, you seem to know a lot. Oneplus is owned by the same parents as Oppo. So they could slip this phone out with the oppo stockists.

Oneplus will have LOCAL warranty centre like they do in the US and EU etc.

It won't be a 'grey' import if sold directly to OZ, it'll need the ticks and an AU power adapter.

It might be shipped directly from asia, but thats all.

"The 5.5-inch OnePlus 5's US$479 RRP is considerably lower than the US$769 of the iPhone 7 Plus and the $US719 of the Samsung Galaxy S8."

Already way past what I'd pay for a phone. :)

  • It will prob cost around what Axon 7 cost when first released $699

  • We are rich, so they'll be priced at like $799

  • <insert Gerry Harvey worried comment>

  • interested to see if they add band 28.

    • OP5 already has

Australian "Soft" Launch date is 29th August 2017
    64GB/6GB will cost AUD$599
    128GB/8GB will cost AUD$699

IMO, decent price if it is locally stocked, however shame regarding the missing AU charger

    • Interesting, seems good, is there a better phone at this price?

      • Well there are not many SD835 devices around (specially locally stocked)
I'd say it would be a great buy if their warranty service is good.

However on real life performance I wonder if SD835 has huge advantages over SD821
