  • Island style keyboard? Lol I remember when it was all about the chicklet keyboards.

Looks good im looking for a good android tablet and checked out the chuwi tablets as the tablet market seems pretty dead these days, maybe going the way of the netbook

At least it has 4Gb RAM for anyone wondering

Yeah, that's an odd choice of specs to list. Here's the important ones:

      Atom™ x5-Z8350
      4GB RAM
      64GB Storage
      10.1" 1280x800 IPS

Would have been a decent enough spec for casual use, except the screen. why or why are they still doing 720P~ish. at least do 1080P. sigh

Atom™ x5-Z8350 - wow these processors shouldn't even be allowed to run on Windows 10
4GB RAM - good ram at this price, but coupled with an atom processor??
64GB Storage - keep in mind this is eMMC, basically an SD card soldered on to the motherboard
10.1" 1280x800 IPS- 10.1 inches is okay, but the screen resolution is terrible.
1 micro HDMI - hope you enjoy always having to carry around a converter with you.
Also I thoroughly enjoy my USB ports - 1x USB 3.1 and one USB 2.0 isn't exactly anything to write home about.

I guess the main things going for this is it's weight - just over a kg with tablet and base - and its battery life. To an extent it's price also.

Too many deal breakers - 64gb eMMC, Atom processor, low screen res to name a few.

Bought my partner a netbook with the same processor earlier this year and she absolutely hated it. She wasn't doing anything too intensive on it and mainly web browsing, some word/excel/pdf editing and would often complain how slow it was and how quickly storage space would fill up from apps that would use by temporary storage (that was a 32gb though).

She preferred going back to her 10 year old Dell instead so we eventually got rid of it.

        • @cheepo: I've got a Celeron processor (not my daily driver, but a backup/Netflix device) and while it's usable, it's only just. Most of the time it is alright for streaming/watching video, word docs, web browsing (although edge sometimes crashes or chooses not to respond) but when it comes to downloading videos or running pretty much any program (eg Bluestacks)on it - even some apps on the windows store - it can be a bit much for it. Bluestacks doesn't even run anymore…

If I was going to buy another computer (even a 2 in 1 Netflix/back up) I would at least get a Pentium - I think LMC has a Pentium x360 going atm for $399 which is an amazing price for it.

At the end of the day, you get what you pay for - I paid $318 for mine and would honestly not pay much more for a Celeron processor, much less an atom.
