Woolies Double Charging March VISA Transactions

Didn't see a post about it yet, so thought good idea to put it up in case any missed the news.

Hopefully will be sorted out without intervention, but basically if you made VISA transactions at Woolies on March 11, 12 or 13 you may find you've been charged again by Woolies for the same transaction.

Supposedly will be sorted by tomorrow morning and transactions reversed, but worth keeping an eye on it. Too bad for those whose accounts are overdrawn because of it though.

    According to your links it's only ING customers.

    • Yeah looks like you're right. I thought was all Visa cards from the comments by the payment processor.

  • Yup I see from the transaction history that I got charged $1.45 again for a purchase I made on Mar 12. I'll let them sort it out.

    • Debit has been reversed.

      • Yep same. Got an email today from ING though saying I was overdrawn and have 3 days before they charge interest (usually keep $0 balance and transfer in from interest earning account when I need it)

    • I remember when a telco did this to me they told me I had to wait 14 days for a refund - because it wasn't enough that they just stole money from me, I had to wait because it was too inconvenient to return it.

      One TIO complaint later I recieved the money back so at least I cost the criminal scum 40 bucks.

    Cuscal glitch sees Woolies shoppers charged twice; two bills for March purchases

    Cuscal attributed the problem to a "processing error" overnight that meant "some incorrect transactions were posted to our clients’ customers’ accounts this morning".

    The firm said it expects to have rectified the error by Tuesday.
