Gaming Laptop Recommendations $1400 17 inch maybe...

please recommend a gaming laptop, about $1400 mark… 17 inch would be nice but not a deal breaker if its 15. Looks like I will have to wait too long for the Lenovo E570, so started me thinking about a gaming system. Would I be better off with the Lenovo or say a Gigabyte from another thread with a 17" screen, 970M graphics, i7 6700HQ, 16gig, and under 1400?

I'd try looking for 2nd hand ones on eBay if you're ok with it being used before. You can get some extremely good deals with 2nd hand laptops if you're patient enough.

    • The only hard part is tracking all the models especially if the seller doesn't put the gpu or specs in the title.

      • Yeah it sometimes takes a bit of investigating but it's not too difficult to score a good deal

        • I mean if you have one model in mind it's not too hard to find but if you want the absolute best deal you gotta go for the big ones aka multi find them.

        • @AlienC: yeah it is tricky, I usually just do a blanket search of all laptops and use the negative query to cut out components or specs I don't want. Like -macbook -gtx780 -4gb -hdd etc. Filtering price range helps too. You're right that they may not mention certain specs so I never actually search for it, I just keep filtering unwanted specs. It can be laborious hence does require patience but I've gotten great hidden deals doing this.

      https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/Computers-Tablets-Networking/580…

Been happy with purchases from "redpc" over the last 4 years.

Gaming laptops usually around $600 to $700.

Less competition if the auction ends early/mid week :)

Just won and paid for another the night before eBay's latest 10% off. Still happy. Good price.
