Which Stores Have National Clearance Prices (e.g. Kmart), State Clearance Prices or Store Specific Clearance Prices?

There are many clearance deals spotted by users. Some of the deals are great however it's always a struggle to figure out if the clearance price is store specific, state specific (e.g. NSW only) or for all stores around Australia.

Kmart for example has national clearance pricing:

  • Kmart prices including clearance are nationwide (red, yellow or white ticket) with exception of where the prices are a hand written sticker or a printed sheet of paper (not a ticket).

ALDI is definitely store specific as is I think Coles and Woolworths.

But how about other stores?

Perhaps we can make a wiki page if we gather enough info.

  • Can be a bit of both. From a Woolies perspective, products can be 'regraded' and thus discontinued from a particular store but not all stores.

Then you have state or national deletions where either Woolies or the supplier choose to discontinue the line.

    • Is there any way to determine what type of clearance it is by the ticket?

      • Nope.

  • Bunnings 'promotional' prices are nationwide although the item may not be available at all stores . Clearance prices with yellow tickets or stickers are 99% of the time store specific and often need to have their price manually overridden at the register. Orange tickets can be nationwide, statewide, regionwide or store specific due to the constant vigilance of the price integrity team. If Aldi, for instance, has a cleaning product in their upcoming catalogue that Bunnings also carries then all stores nationwide would reduce the price in store as directed to by the Bunnings Pricing gods and it would show up on the register as the adjusted price. On the other hand, if the local key cutter has LW4 blanks on sale then only the Bunnings stores closest to them would reduce the price of the same item and only those stores' pricing would be at a lower price at the register.

  • Officeworks - Anything on the website that has been marked down as clearance is set at that price nationwide. Any product you see in store with a yellow ticket (clearance), that price will be nationwide.

Some stores have a bargain bin with random bits and bobs marked down a lot but those prices are specific to that store. They would have a little white sticker (about 2cm x 1cm) with the price on it.

    • Ah good to know, cheers.

  • Here is an exception. Red Ticket at Kmart but seems to only be store specific.

    • That's really odd, I never saw that when I worked there, seems like they've used the incorrect processes to advertise the deal as yellow / red tickets should be Nationwide.. my apologies for editing incorrectly.
