Breville Oracle Deals?

Anyone seen any good deals for the Breville Oracle, seen that it was $1600 last month on Myer eBay (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/318389), but nothing this time around in the sales. Anyone seen a good deal they can point me towards?

  • Never wait for good coffee. Life's too short.

Go haggle at DJs. Be nice. Show them the OzB deals, try… I've always been able to get what I need at the drop of a hat, so long as the price is reasonable.

Not sure if Breville sell through smaller, nicer places to do business, but they may be keen enough to give you a fair discount too.

    • Haha, I totally agree, but I don't see myself managing to knock DJ down to $1599 from like $2299 which is their current price!

      • They price match tho.

OK, so Myers had it for $1600, and may still do for all we know. But Bing Lee downstairs are offering a good deal as are Good Guys that said they could do $1600 no problem. But I'd so much prefer to buy at <insert fav shop here>, not so much because of it's price matching promise, but because I always prefer a place that has decent customer service… it's not so hard. I have faith in you, and the fact that it's a decent size sale on a slow day ;-)

Go forth and get your coffee brewing automagically!

        • Hi, i am looking for the same coffee machine. Review is really good. Which bing lee and good guys can do $1600? i want to homebush good guys and Rodes bing lee they don't want to do it. Will be appreciated if you can let me know which store u went

  • Wow - if you have a coffee every day, that's over a year's worth of coffees as an investment - and that doesn't even include the cost of the beans and milk yet!

    • Which is like $0.30 per coffee, the savings add up quickly if you like to drink coffee and will buy it if you're not making a good one at home.

      • haha I'm not doubting it's a good investment for coffee lovers.

I was just thinking about how much use I personally would get out of something like that. I really do enjoy coffee, but it's more of a social and work thing for me for conversations.

  • +1

Mate, you must be on my wavelength looking for an oracle at decent price. I got excited in receiving an alert but was just your forum post! :)

    • Well I just bought the Breville Nespresso Creatista which has the steam wand from it, and it's amazing, but damn, the nespresso coffee is awful! Immediately got me looking for the big brother…

I might try my luck as 'ZeroVelocity' suggested, but I'm not holding out hope!

      • You can get good results with a BES-870 (Cheaper than ever via GG on ebay today with PGUYS15 $586.24), 920 also. I have both in different locations, the 920 is awesome and the 870 is unreal value for money (almost 1/2 the price), with very passable output (even if ur a miserable coffee snob soab like me). The 870 is so cheap and durable, yet uses less bench space (smaller and the entire grinder is inside), v good if you don't have the real estate or the money for a 920+grinder, let alone an Oracle.

Nespressos of all types… er, I have no comment ;-), other than this-

I took my own coffee machine to work (a Gaggia and later on a BES860, also v. good machines) as everyone drank instant. An incoming GM took my lead and signed half the company over to Nestle for their top of the line pod-box. He must have thought he'd be as popular as George Clooney. The coffee it produced was near awful, but I was happy as my machine was no longer being beaten to death daily. Alas not for long. Half my colleagues returned to it even though it took 3x the time and effort to make a coffee. Needless to say, the GM was out on his ear within the year (for other reasons, lol, he should have been gone long before that!)

        • In truth, I just sold a BES920 with the smart grinder after only a few months of use on Gumtree for $800 for the pair, with a knock box and some coffee and I'm hugely regretting the sale… But instead of replacing like with like after the hugely disappointing nespresso experiment I thought I might as well try for the big daddy of Brevilles.

        • @cc789: In your situ, I'd likely do the same.

OTOH, at the risk of becoming an experiment of an unknown Oracle, the Devil you know may be the Devil you need! The grass always appears greener after all

  • $1500 at the Breville outlet shop :)

Only the grinder just crapped itself, burr disconnected from the kneebone. There goes a month without good covfefe…

  • Use PMYER20 code to have it for $1727.36 delivered. Just ordered one =)

    https://m.ebay.com.au/itm/231962962453?_trksid=p2349526.m254…

  • PMYER20 already expired.

  • any suggestions on replacement for my dead BES900? This is my 2nd one, the first only lasted 12 months before fatality and warranty replacement. I'm thinking about seeing if I can get it repaired as they are hard to find under 1k atm.. Great machines but not so durable, is there anything on the market that can compete with it?
I have the smart gridner so the all in one machines are not as attractive.

We make around 12 coffees a day and kids make hot chocs etc, the current machine has over 4000 on the shot clock..

    cheers

  • I would love to buy Breville Oracle if I see any sale or if it's available at a more discount price (1,600 or below).

If any of you spotted this goes down to that price, I would be very eager to buy one.
