Finally Making an Account !

Hi All,

Been lurking OzBargain for a while now, but finally decided on making an account. I'm 24 and working as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer in Perth in the Oil and Gas Industry. Loving it so far, as it's brought me to basically every part of Australia, as well as Korea, Thailand, Malaysia and Africa.

I have a huge interest in cars and 3D printing, unfortunately both aren't too big on this site. I guess you could say i save money in other places so I have more to spend on those two.

Friends and family always say i'm cheap when i tell them about how many discounts i've stacked on top of each other - But then its those same people who wonder how i afford all the things i buy.

I shall continue with OzBargain being part of my daily morning, lunch and arvo routine and look forward to see what else pops up!

      Funnily (or sadly) enough I had an Evo 9 which i sold. Turned to the Euro side and bought an Audi. Miss the Evo though - Was my dream car for a long time!

          Really don't know much about engineering.

          Social worker or finance.
          I'm leaning towards a social worker as I'd find it more rewarding and I think the job security would be better in the future.

    Hi Jas my wife is a mechanical engineer and we just moved to Perth. Is there much work in the oil and gas field here?

      Hey mate, I'd like to say it's picking up. From a consultant POV, we are definitely a lot busier than we were this time last year.

      It also depends on her experience - Engineering is currently saturated with graduates but may not be as bad for someone with say 5-10yrs exp.
