What ebay vendor for AU stock?

I'll be buying a new iphone soon, and want to know which ebay vendor is recommended for AU stock? Preferably one that has been involved in ebay's 20% off deals in the past.

Any suggestions on who to look at?

Thank you

  • IFA is tomorrow,

a lot of places could be selling IP7's for much cheaper once IP8 drops on Sept 12.

    Current deal: IP7 256GB for 1034 Australian with Tax invoice @ mobileciti_estore

Yeah, I'll not be buying just yet. Will be IP8, just finding out what ebay store to look at.

Mobileciti_store the recommended one then? Are they usually involved in 20% off deals?

      Thanks

    • Hey Scrimshaw!

I'm currently looking for the best bargain on the IP6S PLUS - Capacity: whichever is most economical - Colour: Gold - Preference AUS Stock but will settle for O/S stock if it's a lot cheaper.

Can you please help with the hunt?

      • Did you see the shopmonk deals?

        • Nope. Not familiar. Thanks for sharing, I'll look them up now!!

Unless there's one I haven't seen, they only have HK stock.

"This Product is offered and supplied by Kogan HK Limited pursuant to the Terms and Conditions."

Comes with a generic au compliant charger, no GST, no (enforceable) local warranty.

          Thanks, though.

          kogan/dse are 100% gray

ebay supports (or should I say, turns a blind eye to) fake locations of item and sellers = more business

9/10 sellers of phones except mobileciti, mymobile and rarely vaya store are gray.

did you read the listings in the links?

        • +1

          @whooah1979:

yes, been on eBay for years and years, been buying phones from eBay and other sellers forever.

          those are gray stock iphones

location doesn't matter, you can put anywhere in the entire world you want.

then you should know that kogan ship items from both hk and au. mobile phones over $1000 are normally shipped from melbourne. we don't know if kogan has changed, but they also used to ship tv from auspost chullora/potts hill.

        • +1

          @whooah1979:

no, for 99% of stock kogan ships from HK

you then get another au post going from mel or chullora/potts hill to your destination. Because the shipments are so large they can get it there fast in large batches.

just because a tracking no. is generated doesn't mean the item is physically there.

regardless of this useless semantics discussion, this is not 'AU stock' as per what the OP is asking.

thats like importing from china, and then sending to someone else, and calling it 'AU stock'

kogan is 100% gray stock. this is why you were negged. you are spreading misinformation.

but no worries, impossible to change someones mind until they see the truth for themselves. you will feel silly after lol, but you are free to believe as you wish.

        • @takutox:

Look at the listings you put, it has a HUGE picture saying 'direct import, international edition'

          lol

anyway, lets leave to op to decide.

everyone saying grey import, even people who have bought and received the item are saying its russian/EU stock

this is only one of many deals

how much proof do you need before you realise you're wrong?

please don't misinform the OP or anyone else on ozbargain

its not 'lets leave op to decide', its 'stop misinforming others'

        • @takutox:
do you ever read listing descriptions? the deal that you linked clearly state that the item is shipped from hk.

          @whooah1979:

          You are getting tricked/scammed.

Kogan and DSE (the one that was acquired by Kogan) sell VIRTUALLY ZERO australian stock. They are the same company. DSE lists all items as 'HK', Kogan lists all items as 'AU', THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE

Even Scotty and other reputable members have commented that the Melbourne location is probably false and the item is shipped from overseas.

Kogan literally is 99% gray stock. There is no such thing as AU stock with Kogan. The only time it is ever AU stock is when they sell BRANDED phones and extremely explicitly state 2 year warranty and put (Australian Stock) in brackets

The fact that they are saying 1 year warranty already proves its gray. ALL AU STOCK COMES WITH 2 YEAR WARRANTY. ALL GRAY IMPORT COME WITH 1. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR APPLES POLICY TO ONLY LIMIT YOU TO ONE IF IT TRULY IS AU STOCK. NO AU TAX INVOICE IS PROVIDED. Kogan AU "SELL ON BEHALF" OF KOGAN HK PAYING 0 GST.

If you've ever sold on eBay before, you can literally choose any item location in the world you want with no repercussions. And in this case, you've proven this shady practice works.

Finally, you can ask Kogan yourself if it is actually the 'Australian model'.

I feel like no matter what evidence I provide you will deny and state an extremely obvious eBay tactic that almost everyone on the entire site does (change 'item location' to Australia). The entire internet literally knows Kogan is gray, including Whirlpool, the past 100 ozbargain deals etc.

        • @whooah1979:

Thanks, mate. But yeah, AU stock as in applicable for TRS refund. Those are all no goes :(

          Thanks
