  • do these need a transformer?

    • No they plug into a standard 240v AU socket.

      • So if I replace my existing ones, I need to fit a socket onto each one then… :S

        • +1

You can rewire them, but a plug will allow you to change them whenever you want without an electrician.

    • nope, pic says input 200-240V AC

  • looks like the colour switch label has been written over with a marker in the product pictures

    • +2

Yeah looks as if CW (Cool White) and DW (Daylight White?) were back to front.

      • Yes, WW is Warm White-3000K, then DW Day White-4000K and CW Cool White-5500K

The good thing about this lamps is you are not locked into one colour temperature permanently.

According to our sales record, Warm White lamps are popular in Winter and Cool White is selling fast in summer, this CT Switchable lamp is a smart idea.

Bought some LEDs from lectory. Installed a couple of days ago. Very happy with the brightness of 10 and 12w LEDs. So far so good.

    • +1

I bought several of the 12w LEDs on the last sale. Was also very happy with the output!

Ended up replacing several CFL downlights that used to take 2-3 mins to warm up and reach full brightness, these LEDs are "instant on" by comparison!

IC rating? Didn't find that on the website.

    • These downlights have met the requirements set out in the AS/NZS standard IEC 61347.2.13:2013 and are classified as IC rated.

It's also printed on the back of each downlight as required by law.

Please find the info about IC rating under Features and Specification.

I get the following error message "Special Discount 'Ozbargen 10% off Coupon code offer' from Lectory Pty Ltd (SMARTLED10) only applies to specific departments. Your order will be processed without this discount." when trying to purchase 12W Epistar LED Downlight Kits (Dimmable 5500k)….
What am I doing wrong? O_o

    • Just a Moment, let us fix this.

    • +1

It's all fixed, please refresh the browser and try again, it should be all good now.

      • Cheers mate, all working on my end!

        • Thanks for your purchase, will dispatch them for you this afternoon.

How accurate is the 4000k rating of the adjustable model? I have a house full of 4000k lighting that is all accurate as a result (matches from room to room). I want to replace my current early gen (not-air-tight) LEDs but only if your 4000k are actually accurate.

I have purchased some "4000k" LEDs early in the year from elsewhere and found they were off by enough to see a difference (more yellow than they should have been). Fortunately I was able to return them. What is your policy on this please if I buy some (eg, 8 of them) and find that after unpacking 1 it is not right?

    • The CT accuracy of the LED downlight is largely depended on quality of the LED diode is used.

Please check the link below for pictures of different CT options:

      http://www.lectory.com.au/12W-Epistar-LED-Downlight-Kit-3CT-…

      The Return Policy

      • All the downlight comes with 3 years manufacturer warranty plus 2 years sellers warranty.
      • We will take care of the faulty issue by sending out the replacement unit without any charge.
      • If the downlight develops a fault within 5years from the delivery date,
      • Please contact us through eBay message, phone or support email.
      • Our advisors from support team will guide you through the replacement, return and refund process.
      • We offer 30 days return guarantee for non-faulty items, however, lectory is not liable for the return postage.

As I previously said, I have a house full of different types of lights that are all 4000k. I know what 4000k is meant to look like, I was asking if yours have been tested to be a true 4000k or it is just an estimate from the "warehouse" that makes them? Pictures on a screen don't mean anything, they give a rough indication only.

I am assuming based on the last line that, if I found your LEDs were inaccurate (eg they don't match what I currently have everywhere else in my house), that I can return them at my expense and you will give me a full refund promptly. Please confirm this and if there are any other conditions based on this situation (eg. restocking fees, etc).

        • Thanks for your comment, As a lighting retailer, we don't have the professional equipment to test and gives out accurate CT range of the LED lighting product.

If you find the product received does not match with our description, for example, Colour temperate is not 4000K as described in the listing.

Then it should be considered as a faulty product, we will either issue the full refund or sent out the replacement with no extra charge.

But that has to be proved by reasonable evidence rather than just saying "The color doesn't look right".

All faulty product will be eventually recorded and claimed from our Local Supplier, and it is their job to deal with Manufacturer to ensure the

quality of the product and pass on the feedback from customer to the project management team.

At last, the 4000K is given by LED Lighting Manufacture as an important part of product specification, it is not something that was made up by us or our supplier.

        • @Lectory LED Lighting:

Thanks but no thanks. That sounds like a major hassle and potentially being stuck with something that isn't right (and since you can't guarantee it is 4000k I will certainly pass).

Keeping the OzBargain spirit alive… needed two for the kitchen, ordered four total and will find a use for the other two!

    • Thanks for your support, please leave us a feedback of the product after installation.

      • They arrived a few days ago, super fast shipping to regional WA too! My wife opened them and was sceptical about the switch (she haaaaaaaaaaates cool white in certain rooms) but she gave her approval very quickly as she changed the warmth of the light backwards and forwards.

Have left a review on the site also; we're very happy with these units.

        • Thank you so much for the product review, we are glad that you like them.

  • Possibly a silly question — but can you change the globes on these? If so, how does this work when you buy a '3000k globe' and the switch is set to whatever other setting?

    • It doesn't sound silly to me, no, there is no globes in this LED downlight.

Instead, there is a round circuit board with tiny little LED diodes (chips) and an inbuilt power supply unit (driver) sitting right behind of it, attached with Aluminium Heat Sink at the end.

The whole setup is covered with PVC shell to insulate from dust and AC current, and the cover is not supposed to be opened.

We will not fix the faulty downlight, the replacement lamp will be sent out to you if there is a faulty issue with it.

      • +1

So the whole unit needs to be removed and replaced with a new one, correct OP?

        • Yes, it will be easy to remove them by yourself if you have the Roof socket power outlets (surface socket) pre-installed in your ceiling where you plug all the downlight into.

But if it is directly wired up to the AC current roof circuit then you need a licensed electrician to replace it for you.

        • @Lectory LED Lighting: how long do they last in term of operating hours?

        • @Nois: It's 36,000hours, way over its 5 years warranty coverage.
