Cheapest Way to Get 10GB/month on Telstra shared between 2 mobiles

After seeing the Telstra SIM plans updated for the worse, especially now that the $40 plan has gone from 5GB data to 2GB data.
Just looking for some advice what is the cheapest way to get 10GB/month as we currently have shared pool of 10GB between my wife and I.

Currently we're on $90 ($40+$50) both plans have 5GB allowance. I managed to sign up to the old $40 plan, but didn't make it to update my wife plan.

We would like to stick with Telstra as there are some places we go to which only have Telstra coverage and we also use Apple Music and NRL streaming.
Though I don't mind switching if there is a compelling reason to do so. I'm just wary that since I use Apple Music streaming it could mean an increase of data usage.

Some of the Telstra resellers don't look too bad in terms of value but I'm not sure what their service coverage/quality is like.

Any advice or input would be appreciated.

Should be able to data share that between you, might cost an extra $5/month.

Have a chat to their online sales chat team

    • Ah yes I forgot about Data Share sims. The only thing is that they won't be able to do any voice calls/sms right?

EDIT: I just saw they can, just that there's no included credit in the $5/month

      • Do you pay for calls/texts?

        • With the $5 data share sim, you do pay extra for calls and texts. My wife doesn't call/text very much these days anyway so it's fine.

With these GO plans if you put both services on the same account, it has shared data. Note this means they will be under 1 persons name and they are responsible for both accounts.
Also if you are out of contract with telstra, speak to the disconnections team (just do online chat > mobile > disconnections) and say you are looking to change to another provider but just wanted to see what they could do for you. I managed to get the old $70 plan for $50 and my gf the $50 plan for $40, as a loyalty discount. Plus extra 2GB on each service so we ended up getting 27GB shared.

Also by the way i had the plans page open on telstra and got a pop up that said dont forget to mention the bonus 5GB data when you sign up online. Click to speak to a customer rep. So may be worth mentioning that also

Thanks man, I told them about the 5GB and it got applied, so I ended up getting the $49 Mx plan and got 15GB.
And thanks to @Spackbace for the data share sim idea.

So I'm now paying $54 for 15GB shared between us which is plenty since we only use about 7GB on average.

  • Im some what confused at why you would get so little data

I'm looking the prepaid page, 40 gives you 5gb and $50 gives you 7.5gb
