Best Soundbase or Wireless Speaker Setup

Howdy party people,

Looking at heading down the wireless speaker/soundbase route, as a kid has entered our world, and they seem to be attracting other kids so thinking less cords the better.

We are far from audiophiles - just want to be able to hook up to the TV (LG) and also stream music from phones/ipods (Apple). Like the look of the Sonos Playbase in terms of shape/size/clutter etc. but would love to hear some thoughts before outlaying.

Thank y'all in advance,

Crumpy

checkout the reviews and go test the playbase in store at a JB, i think you will find the Playbar is the better choice

I've got the play five and it works really well for me. The app is good and should be a consideration with your purchase. Agree with above go-to JB and listen for yourself. Also ask for a better price if you decide to buy from them.

    • Can you connect the play:5 up to the TV?

      • You can but it's not recommended because of either a lag or functionality is not that great. That's why the playbar or base is recommended.

        • Can you explain what is the set up to connect the Sonos speakers to the TV to get sound from movies. As a standalone product, I didn't think this was possible.

      • I've got it connected to my tv through 3.5mm audio connector and works fine. Plus I have a laptop connected to tv through HDMI and the sound gets routed to the sonos fine. I've had no lag issues.

  • Thanks everyone. Hadn't really considered bars, so will check them out for sure. Doesn't appear to be many different sound 'bases' in Oz from what I can see?
