Refund on Insurance - Repeated Credit Failures - How to Complain

Hi

Cancelled car insurance with Coles and due a refund.

They have tried 4 times now. I call, go through it all again, confirm account details (triedn bank account and credit card) then am assured it will go through.
Last time I said I wanted to make a formal complaint and spoke to supervisor.
Assured it would be sorted and I would be called to confirm.
Of course no credit, no call.

I want to complain through an agency. Whats the easiest / quickest / simplest route - ACCC / Ombudsman, QLD consumer complaint (Brisbane based) etc
Its not a lot of money (less than $100), so not much effort wanted.

Just can't be bothered with the cycle.

Any suggestions welcome

Cheers

  • Ask them to send it as a Coles e-gift card.

    • They offered to send a cheque. Maybe I could suggest a card, but not such a neat figure.
I wouldn't mind and they seem to be trying, but when I ask why the account dept can't tell customer service (and me) they have no answer.
Typical accounts dept, law unto themselves (no offence to any accountants out there!!). You can't give them a hard time 'cos they got your money.

  • Why did you not go to the FOS?

    • This, go to FOS
      Forget their internal complaints process
