Unfortunately I purchased one of these last week at full price (~$22) which I thought was a good deal. Especially when you compare it to Apple's official Lightning Digital AV Adapter ($75).
At ~$12 this is a bargain!!

I have not received the one I ordered yet but looks pretty straight forward from the video contained in the link.

    Yep that's the way I understand it. Basically mirrors your iPhone/iPad screen onto your TV.

  I'm sceptical it completely mirrors anything shown on the iPad.. and remain just as sceptical after watching that video..
  Anyone got first hand experience with using something like this?
  (I do believe that you can screen record on ios11, so maybe this cable takes advatange of that?

  I have something similar or perhaps the same. Bought it from eBay for $16. It works well with my iPhone. Simply mirroring the screen to TV (but the clock in iPhone always show 9.13am by default when the cable is connected to TV. Back to normal when you unplug it. Weird but works)

  I bought a similar one off eBay, it mirrors your phone yes (photos, whatsapp, msgs, menus etc) but it wouldn't mirror my soccer-watching app.
