good phone handset - or which should i buy?

Hi, im looking for a good phone handset, maximum i would spend is around 400 if the phone is actually really good. At the moment im looking at Sony Ericsson Xperia X1's on ebay for around $150ish, Cheap (200-300) Iphones, or HTC HD2 im wondering whether is worth 400. Sony Ericsson Satio is alright, Any suggestions? Ive already got a postpaid plan so all i really need is the handset, I dont really mind new or second hand.

Alright, I pretty much have 400 to spend, i think either

Buy the HTC HD2 for 400 (Looks like it can prettty much do anything)
Or the Xperia X1 for 150ish (and save the rest or spend it on paying off the plan im already on)

Still open for suggestions though,

    My suggestion is the HTC. It is by far more superior than the SE.
    Others under $400 are
    motorola quench xt5 - android phone - exactly $399 at dicksmith lol…

    Get the HTC HD2 =D. Have one myself so I guess this is kinda bias. But theres a huge community supporting the HTC HD2.

    You can install android on the hd2 too. Consider lg optimus, samsung 5 and motorola flipout, htc wildfire isn't bad either.
