What's Your Simple Workout Program? (Home Gym)

I used to go to gym with simple barbell plan. I think it's called 5 by 5 or stronglist.

Something like push (bench press), pull (overhead press), squat, deadlift over 4 days. Then do secondary exercises depending on time.

Point is above is simple and you can do the intensity depending on your goal.

I was wondering if anyone suggest something simple in absense of barbell at home. So, dumbbell, kettle bell and body weight combination.

Also just curious what homegym workout do you follow and what is goal?

I do about 50 reps per night, moving hand across my body to the pack of salt n vinegar chips (bought at half price from Coles/Woolworths of course).

    • Don't forget that chewing builds muscle and burns calories.

    • Though not a sports physiologist myself, I believe you should increase the load and reduce the reps to build muscle.

This is a fantastic resource as you can filter by the equipment you have.

  • There's a ton of good apps that provide good at home workouts. They can vary from body weights right through to full gym weights setup. Examples include the Nike+ Training, Runtastic Results, Spartan Body plus tons more. Just search the app stores for one that might work.

  • Push ups, sit ups and plenty of juice.

  • Bench press until fail, curls until fail, triceps lift until fail, 25 pushup x2, 3 directional situps 30 (10 each way) x2, plank for 60, then 40, then 30

takes me about 25-30 mins, should also run but I hate running
