Best Savings Account

Hi,

Yes - It's one of THOSE posts.

What's (relatively) good in savings accounts at the moment. The best two I could see without a < 4 month bonus was

UBank:

https://www.ubank.com.au/banking-overview/transaction-accoun…

and MeBank

https://www.mebank.com.au/personal/bank-accounts/online-savi…

Are there any other good options out there?

Thanks!

If you have a mortgage the best savings account would be an offset account since most people pay more than 3% pa in interest repayments.

Plus you don't pay tax on offset savings and by not reducing the principle you can deduct potential renovations when renting in the future by draining your offset instead.

    • +1 for RAMS. But you can't withdraw and need to deposit $200/month.

I'm currently using Rabo direct 4 month intro rate of 3.05%. Doesn't have stupid requirements like no withdrawals, must put $200 in, etc. For a more long-term, the most you will get is basically 2.9-3%, most of which have some sort of ongoing requirements to meet that rate.
