Hey guys,
Does anyone know of a good Australian forum for building/renovation topics?
Most of the time when I search for questions on google I’m directed to American or British forums which sometimes are helpful.
However they also sometimes contain answers which are not related to Australia.
E.g. recommending products from retailers not found here.
I know OZB has relevant forums however they’re not the most active.
And the focus is more on savings/shopping rather than how to.

He's probably taking about renovation threads on Ozbargain, I know I wouldn't come here first for that, but if I want to get off a speeding ticket then Ozbargain is number one!
more aimed at the new builder, I went there while starting my renos and didn't stay. Probably good if you are looking for products or suppliers, not so much on technical help needing.
Looks like you need to up your Google-fu.
Search on google.com.au. On the results page, click on Tools, then select "Country: Australia" instead of "Any country". Try that and see how you go.

This one is good. Despite the '.com' suffix it is an Aussie run site. Some knowledgeable types on there, been quite helpful for me. As is typical of forums though there are some 'quirky characters' on there.

Homeone would probably be the best for household renos.
For specific tasks like welding, concreting, woodworking etc, best to google those specific trades for forums. They don't have to be AU specific due to skills required.
I've actually learned quite a few new skills by YouTube, supplemented by traditional websites for detailed info. Get your theory down pat then watch someone doing it and basically copy them and get better! Lovin technology.

Whirlpool has a home forum that does DIY.
If you are interested in sustainable/low energy/green stuff, the ATA forums are very good.
Facebook has a few Renovation Group in Oz. I picked two with the largest member base.
