I've been keeping an eye out for a good deal on the very highly rated Panasonic Lumix G7 for a while now as it's price is known to fluctuate frequently.
This is the best I've seen it for a while so I thought it was time to bite the bullet!

Cheapest G7 Body only I can find is from Videopro $583.

This deal includes a Lumix G7 Body and a LUMIX G VARIO 14-42mm ASPH. MEGA O.I.S. Black Lens and normally listed at $999 on eGlobal.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7 is a DSLR-styled mirrorless camera. The camera features 16 MP Live MOS Sensor in combination with Venus Engine 9 Image Processor, with the help of newly developed image processor and the sensor the camera can shoot continuous shots to 8 fps Shooting with AF and ISO 25,600. Panasonic G7 also supports 4K video recording at 30/24 fps, Built-In Wi-Fi connectivity is also there for wireless sharing of files.
This is ideal if you don't have the budget to afford a GH4, A6300, A6500, A7S II for example.

Some might dislike the kit lens, but it is better than no lens and still a decent lens for starting out that covers the bases.

Not a bad deal, digital camerawarehouse have one with three lenses for about 300 more. Which isn't a bad deal considering you can sell off the lenses you don't want https://www.digitalcamerawarehouse.com.au/panasonic-lumix-g7…

  • Oh… so tempting….as I need to replace my old GX-1 sometime soon….

  • Any better than the Sony a6000 or Olympus OM-D EM10 Mk 2?

    • I believe the G7 is the only one that does video in 4k out of the 3. I went with the G7.
For the Sony a6000. Bit of an older video and out of focus, but short and to the point, plus the comments are helpful for the most part - https://youtu.be/TAhkppGXD78
      Olympus and G7 stats comparison - https://youtu.be/OvVWnTSAoNE

      • I've been so torn choosing a camera. Will probably just get a Canon G7x Mk II point and shoot for travels. The Panasonic G7 seems way too bulky, and no USB charging on the Olympus really does my head in. And like you said, the a6000 is a bit outdated with expensive lenses….

        • That's why I got the GX85, but it has its missing features as well. Probably best to wait for the next Lumix at this stage.

          Have a look at Gx8, currently only $799 @camerapro.

        • are you going to shoot 4k vids for travels ?
or you're after professional/quality photos for travels ?

else, PnS is pointless.. better get a phone with good cameras + dji spark drone … to complete your travel footage

or replace PnS with a7s2 as a proper step up.

I am waiting for GH5 deal. Is there a any bargain deal for GH5?

  • Also check out the gx85… I wanted the g85 but apart from missing a mic in on the gx85, it's been a great little camera… Just wait for another 20%off deal on ebay…can be had for around $700 with lens kit….
